UGETC
Universal General Education Transfer Component courses are guaranteed to transfer to any UNC system school, up to 30 hours, and be applied to general education curriculum. Students must achieve a C or better for the course to transfer.

General Education Program
In fall 2015 Appalachian implemented a new general education curriculum.
NCCC Transfer Guides
Baccalaureate Degree Plans and Transfer Four Year Guides are currently being developed for all majors at Appalachian. These guides are designed to assist transfer students with choosing appropriate coursework to meet both general education and major requirements.
Submitting official college transcripts for dual enrollment credit while in high school
Students taking courses from a North Carolina community college MUST submit both an official high school transcript AND official community college transcript. College credit cannot be applied if the official community college transcript is not received.
AP/IB/CLEP scores
Testing Services provides a Computer Based Testing Center in the John Thomas Student Support Building for the administration of national entrance/certification exams. We also administer nationally scheduled paper and pencil exams such as LSAT, PRAXIS II, GRE Subject Tests, and National Counselors Exam on Saturdays throughout the year in Anne Belk Hall/Old Belk Library.
