At App State, we pride ourselves in making the transfer process simple and supporting our students from initial inquiry through to becoming an Appalachian alumni! Getting connected and engaged on campus early is key for a successful transfer and our events are designed to help students through the journey.

Transfer Admissions and Engagement plans and provides events designed to help transfer students engage and connect to other students, learn about Appalachian resources, and become part of the campus community. Our fall event schedule is usually posted for the upcoming semester by late May.
Transfer Preview Day
Audience: Future Students
Provides future transfer students a day on campus to learn about the admissions process, hear from current students and faculty, and tour academic facilities.
National Transfer Student Week
Audience: Current Students, Future Students, App State Campus Community
The National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS) has declared the third week of October as National Transfer Student Week. This week allows us to celebrate transfer students and their advocates who help(ed) them navigate the transition from one institution to another.
Fall Open House
Audience: Future Students
Open House is an informative day designed for prospective transfer students to meet our faculty, explore campus, and learn more about majors and programs, scholarships, financial aid, the admissions process and what it's like to be a member of the App State Community.

All In For App: Transfer Admitted Student Day
Audience: Future Students
A celebratory event for admitted and confirmed transfer students to learn more about life at App, next steps, and begin envisioning themselves on campus. Only admitted and confirmed Summer/Fall students will be able to access the registration screen.

Transfer Madness takes place in March and celebrates our transfer students, informs and educates our students of the resources available on campus, raises awareness on campus of our transfer student population, and encourages support among faculty and staff. Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming Transfer Madness Week.

2024 North Carolina Community College Counselor Symposium
Audience: North Carolina Community College Advisors & Counsleors
The Spring North Carolina Community College Counselor Symposium is a virtual event that will be held on Zoom only. The symposium will include updates from each Academic College at Appalachian State Univeristy, as well as important information from the Transfer Admissions & Engagement Team. More information on our 2024 Counselor Symposium coming later this fall!
