Transfer Student Events

At App State, we pride ourselves in making the transfer process simple and supporting our students from initial inquiry through to becoming an Appalachian alumni! Getting connected and engaged on campus early is key for a successful transfer and our events are designed to help students through the journey.

Below is further information on our recurring events. Future students should refer to our event portal to register for a visit and current students should refer to our Engage site for our engagement events.

Mountain Laurel Hall Reservations -- Transfer Admissions and Engagement manages the reservations for meeting space in Mountain Laurel Hall. Please refer to this website for guidelines, calendar, and reservation form.

Fall Events

Fall Transfer Student Events
Audience: Current Students

Transfer Admissions and Engagement plans and provides events designed to help transfer students engage and connect to other students, learn about Appalachian resources, and become part of the campus community. Our fall event schedule is usually posted for the upcoming semester by late May.

National Transfer Student Week
Audience: Current Students, Future Students, App State Campus Community

The National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS) has declared the third week of October as National Transfer Student Week. This week allows us to celebrate transfer students and their advocates who help(ed) them navigate the transition from one institution to another. Stay tuned for more details on the 2021 National Transfer Week. 


Transfer Alumni Network Homecoming Event

The Transfer Alumni Network will officially kick off their programming with an event during Homecoming weekend. More information to come in late summer.

 

Fall Open House

Open House is an informative day designed for prospective transfer students to meet our faculty, explore campus, and learn more about majors and programs, scholarships, financial aid, the admissions process and what it's like to be a member of the App State Community.

  Transfer Madness 

Audience: Current Students, Future Students, App State Campus Community

Transfer Madness takes place in March and celebrates our transfer students, informs and educates our students of the resources available on campus, raises awareness on campus of our transfer student population, and encourages support among faculty and staff. The Mountains Are Calling
Audience: Future Students

It’s not always easy to make it to Boone, so we are bringing the information to you! Join us for these regional events to learn more about attending App State as a first-year, transfer, online, or graduate student. Whether you’ve already confirmed your enrollment to join us this fall, were just admitted, or are not planning to apply until next year our admissions counselors will be on hand to answer all your questions!

2022 Spring Advisign Webinar: Wednesday, March 23 @ 10AM

Audience: North Carolina Community College Advisors & Counsleors

The 7th annual NCCC Spring Advising Webinar will be hosted Wednesday, March 23rd at 10:00am.  Topics covered will include introduction of App's new online pathways, an overview of curriculum changes beginning fall 2022, information on new initiatives for transfer students, and much more.  We welcome all NCCC faculty and staff to join us and learn more about the transfer opportunities at Appalachian and Transfer Admissions & Engagement.
