App State is proud to offer many robust pathways to a 4-year degree for Associate in Applied Science (AAS) learners. This page will help you understand how your credits may transfer from a North Carolina Community College (NCCC) AAS degree into a variety of App State majors.

AAS Pathways from any NC Community College
The following transfer guides apply to any NCCC student who earns an AAS in the indicated program or field prior to enrolling at App State. Minimum grades of “C -” in all AAS coursework are required. Courses older than 10 years may require validation. For more details, review our Transfer Credit Policy.
AAS in one of 35+ Allied Health Fields
App State’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health Sciences program is designed for individuals who have earned an AAS in one of these Allied Health fields from a NCCC.
The program offers a pathway to advancing as a health care leader, administrator or instructor. App State will incorporate many of the required AAS allied health credits, allowing a student to complete their bachelor’s degree in as little as two years.

AAS in Business Administration
App State’s interdisciplinary BS in Organizational Leadership and Learning (OLL) offers a robustpathway for learners who have completed an AAS in Business Administration from a NCCC, though it stands to benefit AAS learners from a variety of other AAS programs, as well.
OLL is a project-based program which requires students to engage with universal concepts that apply to every career path, including leadership and management foundations, effective communication and teamwork, career management, project management, professional learning and development, entrepreneurial thinking and innovative problem-solving, data analysis, digital literacy, and the use of technology in leadership.

High School Articulation Agreements

- North Carolina Department of Public Instruction - Teaching as a Profession (TAAP) Pathway - This agreement was developed to award 6-hours of lower-level App State Education (EDU) course credit for students who complete the Teaching as a Profession pathway at participating high schools with grades of 'B' or higher (see Appendix B in the agreement for list of participating high schools).
