Transfer Teaser will give you an inside look into what life is like at App State. During this day you’ll get an enhanced campus tour, connect with other new students, hear from faculty about academic expectations in the classroom, learn the Top 10 Things to Pack for Boone, and more!
What the day will look like:
10:30 - 11am: Check in at the Transfer Tent on Sanford Mall
11am - 12pm: Welcome & Connect with Your New Classmates (Sanford Mall)
12 - 1pm: Lunch -- Enjoy a free lunch with your new classmates (Roess Dining Hall)
1 - 3pm: Enhanced Campus Tour - you’ll tour campus including past the academic buildings where your classes will be located (bring a copy of your class schedule!) PLUS experience three mini sessions along the way covering:
- Academic life/expectations discussion with Faculty Transfer Mentors: Faculty Transfer Mentors will discuss academic life, expectations, and tips for your success!
- Campus & Community Discussion with Transfer Student Mentors: The TSMs will discuss campus facilities (recreation, dining, academic resources) and Boone (restaurants, coffee shops, outdoor activities, etc).
- Top 10 Things to Pack for Boone: Transfer Admissions & Engagement staff will discuss what are the must pack items for moving to Boone.
3:30-4pm: Special, one-time opportunity! Tour Mountain Laurel Hall, the new home of our transfer community. This residence hall will house 248 transfer students beginning this fall! It will also house our Transfer Student Center, programming, and events for our entire transfer student population.
6:00pm: If you are staying in Boone overnight or for the weekend we invite you to join Online & Transfer Services staff at a Boone Bigfoot game (summer collegiate baseball league). This is a great opportunity to connect with your new classmates over America’s favorite pastime. Family/guests welcome.
Please prepurchase your tickets. Choose the Grass Area for $6.50/ticket - the Bigfoots will allow our group to sit in the general admission seats for this price, assuming the game is not sold out. Look for the App State tents both inside and outside the stadium to gather, connect, and sit with other new students.
*Transfer Teaser is a student only event. Parents/Family/Guests can explore all the wonderful shopping, hiking, and dining opportunities Boone has to offer while students are attending Transfer Teaser. Everyone is then invited to attend the Boone Bigfoot game at 6:00pm.
