 Admitted Transfer Student Webinar

The Admitted Student Webinar is a one hour webinar that will address transfer credit and advising, student employment, and housing options. This webinar is designed for students who have questions about how their credits transfer, advising, registration, and transitioning to Boone. Participation in this program is completely free but you must register in order to participate.

T-POP: The Transfer Pre-Orientation Program

T-POP is a day of activities designed to help newly admitted Appalachian transfer students find the answers to all of their questions and prepare for their upcoming Orientation session. A typical day involves sessions on financial aid, transfer of credit, advising and involvement in campus life. We also have a Q&A session with the transfer student mentors, and a tour of the campus.

Participation in this program is completely free! As an incentive to attend this day-long workshop, Admissions is willing to waive your enrollment "advanced payment" or deposit when you complete your acceptance agreement.

Transfer Orientation

Orientation is required for all students and allows new students to get a feel for campus, meet with an academic advisor and other faculty, and finalize their first semester class schedules.

Welcome Weekend/Activities

Our goal during Welcome Weekend is for you to become more comfortable at Appalachian, to make new friends, to have fun, and to start weaving yourself into the fabric of student life at Appalachian. Welcome Weekend activities serve as an extension of your summer orientation. Take advantage of Welcome Weekend and Welcome to APP events throughout your first semester to ensure a great start at Appalachian!

Trailhead Academy

Trailhead Academy is a four-day program where new students meet and get to know other new students while learning to enhance their leadership skills; form lasting bonds with fellow students; learn about themselves, how they work with others, and how they will become a part of the ASU and Boone communities; and learn the kind of contributions they can make to Appalachian in the years ahead. A special transfer only academy will be held Thursday, June 8—Sunday, June 11. For more information or to register visit trailhead.appstate.edu.

First Ascent

First Ascent is a four-day backpacking adventure in the North Carolina Mountains where small groups of students develop bonds that will last throughout their college experience as they travel, camp, and laugh together through the rugged landscape of the High Country. Students will explore nearby forests, experience unmatched views and find crystal-clear swimming holes just when they need them most. Special transfer only trips will be held Tuesday, July 25 through Friday, July 28 or Tuesday, August 1—Friday, August 4.
