Eligibility
- Community college students* who meet the following criteria are eligible to participate:
- are continuously enrolled (fall and spring semesters) at their community college
- are on track toward completion of an eligible two-year associate degree transfer program
- Early college and other innovative high school students are eligible to participate (Early College students should apply as a First-Year student through our Common App application).
*Students in the Career & College Promise transfer pathway are not eligible to apply while still enrolled in high school. Students who graduate from high school and then continue at the community college are eligible.

- Associate in Science (AS)
- Associate in Arts in Teacher Preparation (AATP)
- Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation (ASTP)
- Associate in Applied Science (AAS) through an institutional or state-wide articulation agreement
Steps to Apply to Aspire Appalachian
1. Submit Intent Form
To get started, submit an Aspire Appalachian intent form for your community college. Once submitted, you will be contacted by your transfer admissions counselor from App State. If you have any questions prior to that contact, please email transferadmissions@appstate.edu.
2. Maintain Eligibility
You should complete an eligible associate degree program earning a cumulative GPA of 2.25 or higher in all college coursework and be in good standing academically and disciplinarily.
3. Apply to App State
Submit an App State transfer admissions application one semester prior to the last semester at your community college.
