Application Process

Appalachian only accepts online applications. The current application fee is $65. You must submit official transcripts from each institution you attended. After applying, you can log into MyMountaineer Portal to check your application status and make sure you are not missing any required materials.

Cost & Financial Aid

Appalachian State University has been repeatedly cited as a best value by Forbes magazine, Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine and other publications, Appalachian offers an outstanding education at a great price. Our out-of-state rates are comparable with many states' in-state tuition rates.

Even with low tuition, cost is a major concern for many families. Appalachian offers financial aid, student employment and transfer scholarships to help keep a college education within reach. Sixty-seven percent of Appalachian students receive some form of financial aid.
